Rapid City Regional 340B
Rapid City Regional Hospital is 400-plus-bed, not-for-profit, community-based hospital serving western South Dakota. After switching corporate partnership from Amerisource-Bergen to Cardinal, they discovered the cost of converting Amerisource-Bergen’s Dimension 21 split-billing software to be prohibitive, so they implemented Talyst’s AutoSplit 340B. Since AutoSplit works with any wholesale relationship, it gave Rapid City Regional the flexibility to move between medication wholesalers, if needed. The AutoSplit software was installed on existing hospital hardware, and the implementation was completed in less than two months. On average, Rapid City Regional saves nearly $100,000 per month on 340B-eligible medications, and is able to direct that money to other projects.
