I’ve become inspired in recent weeks – to think outside of the box. For me, in my role as General Manager of Talyst’s LTC business, that means I’m looking for future visions to embrace – beyond our current products & methods. The Talyst InSite System improves Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) performance in medication management, nursing staff utilization, and practices to ensure better management of pharmacy vendors and more transparency into SNF medication cost and availability.
The InSite System delivers all that, and more. Its historical delivered outcomes: better economy, smoother operations, patient safety, happier nursing staff, and drug security; all have made The InSite System popular in both SNFs and in Corrections Healthcare. From our modest full-market beginning in 2009, Talyst LTC has enjoyed 60% compound annual growth rate in The InSite System’s installed base. Many RNs and LVNs won’t work in SNF which don’t have The InSite System in operation!
What’s not to like about success like that? Built on metrics like these: over one million operating hours per year, over 2.5 million doses per week delivered directly to nursing staff with zero delay, near-Six Sigma accuracy & precision, why look any further? There’s nothing wrong … but still … could we at Talyst LTC make the future even better by evolving beyond our present success?
I’d read about several innovations – and listened to related prognostications – which, if realized, could lead Talyst LTC down different paths. We will always strive to fulfill our missions: to improve long term care (LTC) medication utilization, to relieve LTC nursing staff from unnecessary tedium, risk, and stress, and to contribute to SNF enterprise value … but how? As we do now, with all with relevant, powerful, easy to use, and transparent automation that we’ve developed in the past? Or with some other more advanced future technologies? Please help me decide!
